SIGNAL PENDING EPISODE 04 · FLOORS 41-60
Going Live
A LitRPG Apocalypse Adventure
“Stop playing the game. Map the company.”
Behind the scenes is just another set.
Fritz, Lyra, and Panda broke the shadow-ban and came back to the feed four hundred million strong, with a dead woman’s voice in the metadata and one order from inside the Vault: win first. So the platform stops trying to kill them on camera and lets them deeper, into the production tier, the floors where the magic is held together with duct tape and the duct tape has names.
The set-dressing peels back. The dungeon was always a company, and a company keeps books. On Floor 44 they find a graveyard of switched-off worlds, forty-six dead seasons preserved as dusty soundstages, including the homeworld of a goblin in a cardigan who has been waiting nine thousand years for a finale nobody ever greenlit. On Floor 50 they stand in the room where the Vault physically lives, a cathedral of humming racks containing everyone they have ever lost, close enough to hear and not to touch.
And in the racks, in the rent, in a ledger code older than the company’s own memory, the lawyer finds the document that ends the Broadcast’s legitimacy: the prize was never budgeted. It was never meant to be paid. The creditors would rather the whole season fail than honor a single restoration, and one of them has just moved to write off Earth as a tax loss.
The family is done playing the game. This book they map the company.
Book Four of The Broadcast. The mask was always a budget line.

they walked into a warehouse the size of a moon and it was full of dead planets the company SAVED. forty-six worlds. switched off. just kept. i thought this was a comedy about influencers and i am now sobbing in a parking structure about a goblin's homeworld.
